Safety Day Across TT

TT’s global June safety event was a great success – focusing attention on our biggest cause of incidents – slips, trips  and falls. Everyone got involved – from sharing personal experiences to testing safety knowledge and getting creative in our poster design competition. A fun, educational way to promote our commitment to maintaining high safety standards across TT.

Sharing BE Lean Expertise

Our team in Suzhou recently hosted a BE Lean workshop to share their knowledge and experience of implementing BE Lean in our Suzhou manufacturing facility.  Colleagues from the U.S., U.K. and Malaysia experienced firsthand the Lean journey taken by the Suzhou team, as well as the tremendous success they've achieved through enthusiastically embracing a new, BE Lean way of working.

The workshop covered:

  • The history of implementing BE Lean and the BE Lean Way in Suzhou
  • Suzhou's Lean Wave project journey from Wave 1 in 2014 to Wave 5 in 2018 - building capability, developing talent, creating the culture and reaping the benefits
  • The Kaizen ideas system (how to design a Kaizen ideas system to promote a Kaizen culture; from 0 to generating over 8,000 Kaizen ideas per year)
  • How to run a Kaizen event and the SCORE Model
  • How to run a skills competition to make work fun
  • How BE Lean tools are deployed

This BE Lean workship is an excellent example of sites and teams working together and sharing best practices - demonstrating the TT Way.

Power Electronics Roadshow Goes Stateside

In September, the Power Electronics (PE) team took its roadshow stateside visiting their new colleagues in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sharing information about the PE division and what it does. The roadshow also recognises the achievements of colleagues and the business, inviting the site to take part in a product quiz to learn about what’s manufactured, for which customers and the applications in each of the division’s locations.

The PE team shared local knowledge from the four U.K. regions where the PE sites are based, as well as provided some local food delicacies to enjoy.  Equally the U.K. team immersed themselves in Minnesota’s culture, supporting their new adopted NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Dawn Prior, VP HR Power Electronics said, “The roadshow was a great success, the high level of engagement from our new colleagues in Precision at these early stages of integration will no doubt support our future success together.”

Sharing Knowledge in Sheffield

Employees in Sheffield took time out of their production schedule to learn more about products, customers and their applications.  Teams rotated through four rooms containing stands and presentations covering pressure; temperature and calibration services; flow; and 'the World of TT Electronics' to further introduce new employees to the company.

All of the employees filled out a quiz on some of the information covered in the various sessions, which gave them a change to win one of three vouchers.

A good time was had by all - sharing information, solutions and best practices.
